I am in debt. What are my options?
What is Credit Counseling?
Credit counseling allows you to work with a licensed counselor to analyze you financial situation.
This is highly encouraged for everyone. The counselor will help you review your income and your
expenses in comparison to your debt to see what options may be best for you in relationship to
resolving your debt. You can begin that process right now using our
"
Free Debt Analysis" form.
After you complete the form send it to us. We will contact you to review your information.
Debt Management Program
After determining qualification through a credit counseling session and the completion of a budget
analysis, the debt management program helps you become debt free in under five years. This program
works with your creditors in reducing your interest rate and consequently your monthly payment into
a monthly payment that is affordable according to your budget analysis. You are then on a fixed
payment with a fixed interest set on a path to be debt free.
Bankruptcy
If you do not qualify for the debt management program, and feel that not only can you not make
your minimum payments but any payment at all you may want to consider bankruptcy as an option.
You are highly encouraged to seek the advice from a qualified attorney. Additionally, prior to
the filing of any bankruptcy, since the amendments to the bankruptcy code in 2005, it is required
that you complete a pre-bankruptcy counseling session.
